Welcome to Swallow's Nest, located in beautiful Pacific City! Just a short walk from the beach, this two story home offers four bedrooms and two and a half baths, with room for up to ten guests and your favorite four legged pup! Park the car, grab your bags, and head inside!
Upon entering Swallow's Nest, you'll find yourself in the lower level of the home where three of the bedrooms sit. The first bedroom comes complete with a queen bed, the second with a queen bed and a double futon along with a TV, and the third with two doubles. This last room is perfect for any children in your party to share, as it also has a plush carpet. A full bath with a shower/tub combo also resides on this floor for easy guest use.
Head to the second floor, and you'll find the living room, kitchen, dining area, and master bedroom! The living room offers plenty of natural light through the large, picturesque windows, and if it gets a little too bright or warm, feel free to close the blinds! A couch and two overstuffed chairs sit around a coffee table facing a flat screen TV mounted to the wall. You'll have access to a DVD and Blu-Ray player, along with cable and Wi-Fi while staying at Swallow's Nest! The owners have also left board games and books for guest use. A half bath also sits on this floor for your convenience.
The kitchen sits adjacent the living room, with a small dining room table behind it. Up to seven guests can sit around the table, while the other three are more than welcome to use the space at the kitchen island/bar. You'll have everything you need to whip up some quick and easy homemade meals on your trip in this kitchen, including plenty of silverware and dish-ware, along with a refrigerator, microwave, oven/stovetop, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee maker.
Check out the back deck near the dining room! You'll have an amazing view, along with access to outdoor furniture and a propane BBQ to grill on during the warm summer months! A ladder staircase back inside leads up to a loft. Your children will love having this private area to play and relax in, or even take a nap on the twin hide-a-bed.
On the other end of the second floor, you'll find the final bedroom, the master, complete with a king bed and a large chaise lounge. The private bathroom is sure to please, with a Jacuzzi tub and a double head shower along with his and hers sinks!
While staying in Pacific City, you and your family will have plenty to see and do! Explore the beach, just a short walk from Swallow's Nest, or take a hike up the sand dune! It's harder than it looks but worth it when you reach the top! Be sure to bring your phone or a camera to capture the breathtaking view! Enjoy a nice, relaxing lunch at the Pelican Brewery afterward, or grab a slice of pizza at Doryland Pizza. You could also travel south into Lincoln City, and explore the outlet mall, or head north into Tillamook, and take a tour of the cheese factory! Pacific City is located just off of Highway 101 on a small loop that extends west towards the Pacific Ocean. There are two large rivers, The Big Nestucca and The Little Nestucca that merge to create an estuary and habitat for a variety of natural species. If you are into fishing, crabbing and clamming, this is a fine vacation choice for you! There are two Salmon runs, one in the spring and one in the fall, that run up The Big Nestucca located right in the center of town. The locals of Pacific City indicate that on any given day during crabbing season, a local crabber may need to offer excess crab to passersby on the street as they have effortlessly exceeded their limit.

The beds were comfortable and the porch off of the second story was a wonderful place to sit, relax and chat. The beach was within walking distance. The kitchen of the house was equipped with what we needed to cook our own meals but we also enjoyed several meals prepared by local restaurants in Pacific City. Our long weekend was wonderful! "Pacific City is one of my favorite places, quite a gem among the many great towns on the Oregon coast, and we've stayed at a number of places here over the years. And still, Swallow's Nest exceeded our expectations. The house was spacious, immaculately clean, had everything we needed for a getaway with family and friends, and was only a convenient walk away from the beach. We found it kid-friendly, with the loft and games/puzzles being particularly exciting for them. And it lived up to being dog friendly, for our mid/small dog. The kitchen was better supplied than we anticipated, with everything from cooking sheets to a stockpot. There was an abundance of linens at our disposal, plus a washer and dryer, which was useful as people came and went during the week. Even an extra card table and chairs, tucked away for use if needed, provided welcome flexibility (and was quickly commandeered for the occasional puzzle or schoolwork). Deer wandering amongst the neighborhood's beach grass was also a welcome sight, and made for yet another thing to look forward to during morning walks. If this house has any drawbacks, it would be that it doesn't have much of a beach view, since it is backed up against taller houses.
