Ocean Views with a '70s Vibe!

Step back through the sands of time to the swanky '70s at Loki’s Longhouse. This far-out four bedroom, two bath cabin maintains its original character, while embracing modern amenities. The home is steeped in Arch Cape history.

Sitting on the original site of the “Skyview Motel,” it was built by and remains in the same family for nearly 50 years. Now in its third generation of ownership, the current caretakers are professional filmmakers who decorated the spaces the same way they would a film set. Many cherished memories have been made here with the guarantee of many more to come.

Ideally situated on a corner lot in a secluded nook of Arch Cape, the home is only one row back from Ocean Front and a short stroll to the sand. Parking in both front and back of the property provides ample space for multiple vehicles.

As you enter on the main floor, you’ll find a sizable laundry room stocked with an assortment of beacha ccessories. Passing through, the first bedroom you’ll encounter on the main floor is an homage to “The Goonies” which was filmed all around the North Coast. Affectionately named after one of the characters in the film, “The Chunk Bunk” houses set of bunk beds in a pirate ship themed space.

The second bedroom on the right is our “Folk Room” featuring local artworks, a queen size bed, and mid-century furnishings. Directly across the hall is the main floor bath with a large shower.

The last bedroom on the main floor is the “Kon-Tiki Room.” This tropical treasure has a King size bed as well as a twin day bed, and a kitchenette/wet bar. Hit rewind and go back to the days before streaming with the vintage TV/VHS unit and curated video collection.

As you scale the stairway and approach the top floor, you are greeted by sweeping ocean views. The Great Room has windows reaching all the way to the top of the vaulted exposed beam ceilings. To the left you’ll find a cozy seating area arranged in front of the classic wood stove fireplace. To the right, a large dining table that flows right into the fully-stocked Kitschy Kitchen.

The top floor is home to the fourth bedroom with a King size bed, flat screen TV with Apple TV streaming, and designer '70s brutalist furnishings by Paul Evans. Just next door is a second retro-themed restroom, with a tub/shower combo.

Step outside onto the wrap-around deck. Journey to the south end and discover a breakfast bar looking out onto the coast, or fire up some eats on the premium grill.

Adventure awaits in Arch Cape! Book your stay at Loki’s Longhouse for a timeless experience.

Reviews

FIVE STARS!

Beautiful view and close to a walk on the beach. Each room has well planned decor that left my niece planning on how to decorate her own house one day. Kitchen has everything you need for a whole family. Record player was cool addition and we loved the fake fire heater in the downstairs bedroom. Also loved the flickering lights in the living room, gives a cool vibe. As a note, the plug in the kitchen that had a couple of appliances on it stopped working when using them at the same time. —Alexis from Eugene
