The Lakeside Caboose

“GREAT VIEWS, AND A SPECIAL TIME! My family and friends enjoyed the Lakeside Caboose vacation rental at Rockaway Beach. The house was well appointed with new copper pans, and had everything we needed for homemade meals....minus the food. We loved from views - the Pacific Ocean and from Lake Lydel - both of them from the living room. The safe-path from the house welcomed beautiful kites high above above, as we looked for treasures along the sand. The 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms allowed our mixed group to be successful, with space for everyone. The kitchen was full of light and full of laughter as we cooked and ate an amazing meal! A 8-block walk to downtown Rockaway was easy. We enjoyed a nice breakfast at Grumpy's cafe. We had a very nice time here, and look forward to returning to the "Caboose." We hope to make it to "Bingo Night," at the Lyons Club next time. I've heard that it's fun for all ages!”

“GREAT LOCATION, DEFINITELY CHARMING Great location, a block from the beach/trail, and super easy lakefront access!! Great set up with sleeping quarters downstairs, living space upstairs, and bathrooms on each level! I think every decade from the 40's till now was covered in some fashion with appliances/furniture/decor! I loved it! Kitchen is very well stocked and personally I loved the "vintage" appliances, cookware and gadgets (work better than today's mass production!) However, if you are used to teflon cooking, might want to bring some pans. The bed in the "master" was insanely comfortable! Supportive, but felt like I was sleeping on a cloud! Short of a crockpot, there was NOTHING we needed we couldn't find in the house! Sand toys, marble run and lots of games to entertain on rainy days! Last minute booking when our planned rental found termites. Julie worked on her day off to assure we had everything we needed. She was genuinely friendly! Highly recommend this place and this company!”

“Great views upstairs, clean and plenty of room ~ First impression was that I wished it had been noted that there are several sets of stairs to climb to enter the home, as it’s set upon a hill above the street. Unloading cars was harder than expected but we did ok. The home is very well kept, clean and comfortable. Beds were all very comfortable and there were PLENTY of extra blankets, linens and towels. Kitchen was well stocked with anything you’d need from cooking and baking dishes to spices and lots of glasses and silverware. Plenty of seating upstairs- two tables allowed us to have a puzzle spread out on one and still have lots of seating around the large table. There are stores and restaurants within walking distance, go by street or beach! We had an amazing getaway and wished we could have stayed longer!”
